Boots of the Season

by | Fashion, Lifestyle

I don’t know about y’all, but the pandemic has me either in sweats and tees, or going all out fashion in rebellion of months pent up. One thing is for sure- we’ve had way too much indoor time lately. With a new year upon us, I look forward to more moments of not wearing slippers — even if it’s just to run to the grocery. Taking advantage of these mundane errands to dress up just a little does wonders for the psyche. And there’s no better way to feel put together than with a statement-making boot. This winter we have our eye on key styles that range from edgy lace-up combat boots to luxe over-the-knee options. Whether you’re going for comfort or are ready to break out of a stay-at-home style rut, there are plenty of trends to suit your needs.

Even if you’re still donning your PJs underneath, throw on a pair of the below beauties and a fabulous coat, and you’ll be feeling like all is [almost] normal in the world.

Over-the-knee

No other boot is better suited to transform your look and mood. OTK’s are back this winter in a plethora of iterations: heels range from flat to platform to sky high- and in as many textures and colors as you can count. If you want to feel pulled together in a jiffy, these are your fastest fix. The best part? They’re positively the warmest option out there.

Lace-up / Combat

Lace-up boots are having a moment, especially in the form of chunky combats. As they say – fashion can change the way you feel; these boots never fail to make you feel powerfully rebellious. Doc Martens are a classic option that offer many styles and hues. If chicer is your style, Stuart Weitzman makes a minimal pair that feel extra luxe. Offset the tomboy charm by styling with a dress or skirt, once the weather warms.

Rubber

Rubber boots are not just for rain anymore. Top brands are designing this style to be worn in any weather, with unexpected, elevated styling. The latest don a Chelsea silhouette- but Wellies are still making their mark from brands such as Ganni, Zara, and of course, Hunter. Go for a zesty orange color to punch up your look.

Kitten

There’s something about a kitten heel that exudes sexy sophistication. Just a bit of height gives you the boost you need while staying reasonably comfortable. This style comes in just about every shaft height– I especially love a slouchy suede style like The Attico’s “Tate” bootie. If you’re feeling daring, Sam Edelman makes the “Lizzo” in pops of fun colors- much needed during these darkest months.
